I know we don't have sales data for PC, but a lot of the Western RPGs sell well on PC and the general trend on PC is that games tend to have legs. Dragon Age was well-received on PC and it was widely publicised that the PC version was superior to the console ports. Oblivion and Fallout 3 too, and the console versions sold quite well. I believe The Witcher also sold well on PC and I remember reading a while back that it broke 1 million (for a PC game from a fairly small dev tis quite impressive). Then there is Mass Effect which sold well on top of Fable 2 that you mentioned. I don't doubt that Mass Effect 2, Witcher 2, Fallout: Vegas, Fable 3 and Elder Scrolls V will all sell well when released.

And I haven't even started on the monster that is World of Warcraft or other MMORPGs.

So, it's probably more accurate to say that "There are a few JRPG fans, but lots of Final Fantasy fans", because WRPGs this gen seem to be selling OK.

World of Warcraft is a monster: 23 Millions copies for 3 games and average of 7.66 Millions per games. It is probably the only games that sell worlwide as good as the past FF games and Diablo II on the PC has done great too(around 5 Millions). But in all the RPGs released this gen  (PS3, Xbox360 and Wii) and selling Wordwide for a while FF XIII with its first week and selling only in Japan is already 7th behing 5 games on the Xbox360 and 1 game on the PS3 and 0 game on the Wii. About Mass Effect 2, Witcher 2, Fallout: Vegas, Fable 3 and Elder Scrolls V, I only trust Mass Effect 2 and Fable 3 because the Xbox360 fans are probably the greatest fan in the World and they really buy exclusive.

I wouldn't underestimate the strength of the Fallout franchise or Elder Scrolls for that matter. They're on 3 seperate platforms and will likely outsell Mass Effect 2 and Fable 3 because of this.

I am not really understimate the strength of Fallout or Elder Scrolls. And if you take there sales on all platforms then you are right they will outsell Mass Effect and Fable 2. They will sell more than 1 Million on each platform but I think they will sell less than their predecessor on each platform. I think that only Fable 3 and Mass Effect 2 can actually sell more than their predecessor and that is my reason for trusting them more than the others.
