2nd place? Bah! 
I'm glad to see 8 in the top half of the list, BTW.
It's a game that really doesn't deserve the bad treatment it gets; it was in a very difficult position, coming after 7, and it didn't really stand much of a chance with either the old school fans (since it deviated a lot from the FF formula), or the fans who were introduced to the series with FF7, since it inevitably suffered from mostly negative comparisons to its predecessor.
At first, I was one of those FF7 fans who hated 8 for not living up to my expectations, but I later came to appreciate it as a good game in its own right.
