Well that is very flattering of him and I'm sure Nintendo is quite happy with that response. But hey everyone wants to take a Zelda setup and be able to recreate it just as perfectly as they do. But of course not easy to do but that's a good development team so more power to them. But the RE4 shell that they use I still think is a great shell for adding in the hack and slash genre so no complaints from me.

Agree. Although after Ocarina of Time I stopped caring for Zelda (although Majora's Mask was a good followup, but after that.....). GOW is fine the way it is and GOW2 was definitely an improvement from Jaffe's original vision although not being involved, just like DMC3 was better than any DMC including 1, despite not having Kamiya involved. Also GOW series truly has felt like that looooong rollercoaster ride that keeps you at the edge of your seat, something even Ocarina of Time didn't manage to do despite being a masterpiece. I admit alot of the quick time events in GOW have alot to do with this, and GOW3 demo shows that this has been greatly improved. Nothing more satisfying to me so far.

It of course all comes down to taste and it's a matter of us respecting genre's and games we're not into and what they bring with them. Halo: CE for redefining console FPS's, Mario Galaxy for refreshing that franchise, Windwaker for taking a risk and trying to break away from the norm, LO for making a good attempt at bringing a classic RPG into a next gen console, etc. I see Jaffe's comment as a hidden form of trolling from his part (this is a personal assumption and nothing else) for no longer being involved in a project where the sequel was better than his own creation. Any opinions on this whole matter?

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.
