Why do the PS3 and 360 sell differently in different regions?

If Fable was on ps3 I wouldn't have bought a 360 in the first place. So I guess you could say games. Mainly Halo, which still, to my dismay people praise as the best shooter. I still dont get why it sells so much in the US over the ps3.

At launch I could see why the 360 sold better, because it was the only system on the market. When the ps3 launched it still outsold it, which is understandable and not at all surprising. But now that it is the same price, with a much better value and future and current game line up I don't understand it. The rest of the world understands this value, but not us in the US for some reason.
