THANK YOU VERY MUCH, finally someone that is not a blinded fanboy. Yes Red and Blue were in fact fun at the time. Reading this topic I realize how many great games go severely underappreciated do to blind following and blind loyalty. I have seen series come out that either do not improve or drop in quality. Best example would be Zelda. After Ocarina of Time, it just went down hill, yet I see people crying when they see 1 picture of Link for the next Zelda game. Final Fantasy seems to have suffered from this also. I loved the fact that FF IX went back to the FF roots but after than ....People really need to stop being so close minded and see what other gems are out there, I mean I could make an extensive list of games from the NES all the way to the PS3/360/Wii: The Magic of Scheherazade, Xexyz, Kid Chameleon, Blue's Journey, Chrono Trigger (yes, just look at the sales of the original on SNES), Chrono Cross, Shadow Hearts: Covenant, Bonk, Guilty Gear Series, Blazblue, Brave Fencer Musashi, Koudelka, Kartia, Vagrant Story, Demon's Souls, Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, Valkyrie Profile 1 and 2, etc, etc, etc. |
I own both Magic of Scheherazade and Xexyz. Good games. MoS was like a hybrid action-rpg/turn-based rpg (half Zelda, half Dragon Quest basically) and Xexyz from what i recall was like half 2D platformer, half shmup.
