There not trying to appeal to the hardcore gamers any more. They got the huge ad campaign for Halo 3, Cod 4, Gears of War and etc. If the hard core gamer isnt sold on the Xbox by now, it will never happen. There pushing their marketing money toward the casuals this holiday. I was watching some Fresh Prince and saw a new Xbox ad featuring hot air balloons, and and bunch of kids running around, then showing  a father and daughter playing guitar hero 3. It also showed off Lego Star Wars and Scene it. Also Ive been hearing Toys R Us ads on the radio advertising the Xbox arcade at $279. Microsoft is doing what they can to appeal to families this holiday and thats why the core gamer doesnt isnt seeing much of them.
