Duckaluck- what kinda reasoning is that. Last I checked first of all, Wii was in first place. Don't ya think you should be comparing sales to the top dog not the second one.
But if you must no, I've been saying for awhile that I think PS3 was going to be able to sell better than the 360. I just didn't no win it's sales in Japan and Europe, would outstrip that of the 360 in America alone. The sole problem with the 360 is that it only provides to 50% of the market while the other 50%, besides UK which is no longer being dominated by it. That alone gave PS3 large chances this holiday season to outdo the 360. Why? Well if 360 can only get a second place in it's 50% of America because Wii will be in top, then it can't be that hard for PS3 to gain enough in America and the rest of the regions to come out on top of the 360. It's simple logic that this might have happened but no one thought it this early. Of course no one thought Sony would float $3 billion of its own stocks to do pricedrops and new SKU's to help it out this holiday season and make sure it doesn't go under as a company.
