Wouldn't it make sense for Sony to just rerelease PS2 games via the Playstation Store so that people can play PS2 games on their 40 GB PS3 is they really want to? It's not like the Wii where the lack of a harddrive prevents the purchase/dl of such large game files.
To do that they would need to create a working emulator for PS2 games, meaning it would be backwards compatible with disk games to begin with.
They say they have no plans for anything like that. I just hope to hell they'll change their mind, or, more likely, they're lying.
