I really don't know if they are profitable, but "farmers" are currently more than 70million, if even just 5% of them pays for items buyable only with FV Cash (that you must pay with money, if the 1 unit you get per level-up isn't enough), it would mean more than 3.5million paying players. Enthusiastic players with little spare time, paying for fuel (free refill is slow) to speed up plowing, seeding and harvesting (a full tank is enough only for the smallest fields), can end up paying more than World of Warcraft players monthly. And the game is simple, slow paced, with little interaction amongst gamers and no real-time one, some activities have wait periods before they can be performed again, so cost per each client is a lot smaller than for complex MMORPG's.
I'm curious too about its profits, if any, anyway.
