Quite simple..
Let's compare to last year..
I've only taken the first 3 weeks from each year in december.

December 2008:
Wii: 4,022,552
PS3: 1,349,017

December 2009:
Wii: 4,211,242 (up 5% from last year)
PS3: 2,219,439 (up 65% from last year)

I would say PS3 does very good and Wii does okey looking at these numbers

Well at least the Wii is up overall in Dec from it's peak year. All they had to do was a $50 price drop O and NSMBW

PS3 is doing good is well but it took a $100, a new PS3 design, FFXIII (in Japan), and tons of advertising 

Nintendo dropped the price

Sony threw the kitchen sink
