Well I am unsure about how next weeks sales will turn out... but my belief is that they will be down slightly in the West anyway, and for PS3 they will certainly be down in Japan, so not next week (I could be wrong and sales may increase in the West enough to counter Japan's fall, but I doubt it)

As such, the next time it could manage this will be next Christmas, there are zero game releases that can push console sales that high in the middle of the year, I wish people would stop kidding themselves about such things. If the Wii can "only" manage 734k with Mario Kart Wii AND Wii Fit releasing when it has suddenly been given masses of supply after a drought of consoles what makes people think any console can top that by an extra 1/3rd with just Gran Turismo, or even more laughable, God of War.

Games may help push hardware up an extra bit during the holidays, but it is difficult to tell what impact they have (except in special cases like FFXIII in Japan) Which is why the next time the PS3 could manage 1 million in a week worldwide will be:

1: Black Friday week 2010 IF a big game releases in Japan (and preferebly Europe and America too)
2: The same week as this last one in 2010 (ie 52 weeks from the 1 million week it just had) IF it has seen an increase in popularity it could manage this without a big game, if it is seeing similar sales to this Christmas then it will need a big Japan game to get that extra boost, and considering nothing bigger than FFXIII is coming to PS3 it would want a big Western game to launch the same week too.
3: The week after No2 in 2010... Which as the days of the weeks change each year means Christmas day should be a Saturday (I think) which gives that week an extra shopping day compared to this year, and thus it may not be a drop off in sales from the previous week.

4, 5 and 6: Same as 1-3 but for 2011

etcetera.

Personally I doubt number 1 greatly, but it is at least a possibility.... for this kind of prediction you should be ignoring any game releases unless they occur on the week of Black Friday, or the 2-3 weeks prior to Christmas.... because that is the only time when sales will be high enough that a push from a game might help it over 1 million.
