Thinking "casual"="party game" shows why you don't get why the mainstream isn't into intensive play games, and Mario 3D is that kind of game.

It's true though. Wii Sports Resort, Mario Kart, Brawl and now NSMB. These are the best selling Wii games because they can be played socially.

Mario Galaxy has a very pick up and play design and is actually much, much easier than NSMB. The controls and mechanics are simple. It's not Metroid. It's very casual friendly. But like I said, it's not a social game, which is why it hasn't had the same success as the biggest Wii games.
