As an owner of both systems I like these comparisons. I want the superior version of the games that I choose to buy. I also want to know if there are any bugs or other issues. Personally, I buy multiplats for the 360 and exclusives for the PS3. If I can confirm that both versions are pretty close and there aren't any other factors such as multiplayer I have no problems buy the PS3 version.

Some of the older PS3 ports are definitely inferior to their 360 counterpart. The PS3 version of Area 51 is probably one of the worst ports ever. For 99% of newer multiplatform games both versions should be almost identical. But, the PS3 version will most likely have worse AA and a few more hiccups than the 360 version. But, there are a few games out there where the PS3 version is superior.

Have to remember that up until recently, MS mandated consistent 720p & 2xAA for every game. Now that 360 developers are able to use some of the same tricks that Sony has been using for the PS3, I wonder if we'll see some noticeable jumps in graphics quality on the 360.

Amm I thought Halo 3 was at <720p? So unless it was up until 2007 recently they never mandated 720p and 2xAA. Unless you mean all games had to be scaled to 720p which they still do and do the same on PS3.
