NO WAY!

There are lots of hidden problems with Australia, some you may be aware about others not.

Hard to gain entry
Low average wage
Low minimun wage
High unemployment
Extreme weahter conditions
Sparsley populated
Lack of good public services
Country is isolated in itself
Don't play football
Is very left wing. England is aswell but...meh

Low average and minimum wage? My understanding was they are very decent?

They are decent but not compared to England.....To my knowledge

High unemplpyment?  Compared to who?  Until recently our unemployment was very low, and unless the Labor government keeps pissing away money in an attempt to make Kevin Rudd a global celebrity, 10 years of good coalition economic governance should mean we can still go back there.

I heard that employment was low again im comparing to England. Also isn't it true that a large percentage of aborginies don't have perminant employment?

Extreme weather?  Where?  In the cities?

Yes! Just the other week it was apparently over 30 degrees and in one place it was 40! I also heard that a few years ago extreme drought effected one part of Australia whilst flooding occured in another. There was also severe bush fires partly caused by the weahter and partly casued my murderers.

In some cities I'll give you the bad public services on transport at least.

Maybe im being a tad unfair comparing it to England but thats just from my perpective.

ROFL. wow. over 30 degrees?!?!?!?! OMG ITS A FREAKIN HEATWAVE. Actually 30 degrees is quite common... It isnt even that hot! 30 degrees is average. i played a full day of cricket in 41 degrees 2 weeks ago... Yeah thats hot, but it isnt extreme. No one in Aus really cares about the heat, when you live in it you get used to it. I would argue that Englands current snow/cold weather/ice is FAR more treacherous and 'extreme' then Australias heat. Its all relative to what you are used to...

As for floods/bush fires/whatever, Find me a country that DOESNT have disasterous weather at some point, whether it be floods, cyclones, bush fires etc. No matter what the climate is there are going to be bad environmental situations, and Aus is no exception.

edit* also, spiders are no where near as common and prevalent as the rest of the world thinks...

(wiki) There have been 26 recorded deaths in Australia in the last 100 years from spider bites,  And none since 1979

You run into a huntsman every now and then, but theyre so harmless a lot of people will just pick it up and put it outside... they would never bite, and even if they did, they arent venomous. The funnel-web has killed 13 people out of those 26 from above, but that is confined to Sydney.
