Look, the problem you're experiencing is one that isn't going to go away. Switching countries for political/ideological reasons is a very rash step. I'm certain that people of your temperament who were 40 years old in 1920 felt extremely uncomfortable with where the country was going then, too (legalized unions? federal income Tax? Anti-monopoly laws? wtf!!). You should work to mitigate that problem here and now, and also wait to see if the discomfort you're experiencing isn't naturally mitigated anyway (welfare did roll back in the mid 90s, after all, not that i'm pleased with it).

What you're saying is like someone who left the country to Australia in 1920 so they could go drinking, and then prohibition was repealed a few years later (or more, depending on your state)

And the government of 1930 didn't do anything, and the depression continued deepening until 1933. It is true that Roosevelt's over-pushing resulted in a backslide in 1936, but the inaction of Hoover was what made the mess of 1932/33 what it was

You must have missed my other long post in here.

it has little to do with me ideology (although that plays a part), and more to do with not wanting to live in a system that's about to go bankrupt.

Over the next 10 years, we are going to be in major trouble here, and the only way out is to put the successful peoples lifestyle in decline.

I would accept that if the reason was massive deaths due to something, or war, or something we had to endure. It's not. The only reason is mismanagement, and I don't want to give my efforts to a futile attempt from a incompetent government to "fix the problem".

This is not party based by the way... both parties suck at this. Republicans I think would run us into the ground slower, but they still do it. In no way, is this problem like prohibition. That's a law you can pass or dissolve. The problems in Washington that I see.. will not go away.
