I never said that Bluray was slow, please understand I just get tired of reading the same misinformation regarding the 360 DVD drive read speed. In terms of at its fastest and indeed on average the 360 drive is faster but in certain rare circumstances the Bluray drive on the PS3 will read quicker than the 360's drive. This isn't a slight against Bluray though which is already better than DVD now in terms of seek time and read speed with the faster drives, unfortunately the PS3 uses the older 2x drives as a baseline for performance which are still more than good enough for the job when optimised well and HDD caching is used properly.

Well then maybe you should read the thread before posting... If you follow it back, the only reason I commented in here was because someone said the bluray drive is slower. I pointed out that, like you just said, there are cases when it is not.

To which I replied (in order to make myself more clear)-

The 12x DVD drive in the 360 reads data faster than the 2 x Blu Ray drive in the PS3.

To which you said I was STILL completely wrong. Guess in many respects I wasn't.

There is no point arguing with him if he will not conceed that the DVD drive is indeed 12x (for DL) to start with and he was wrong in that assumption before he started arguing any other point.  You indeed weren't wrong as for all intensive purposes the data that is read from for the vast majority of the time is on the outer edge of the disk and the slowest portion of the disk is filled with redundant data reserved by Microsoft.  In actual fact it hasn't been determined what the slowest speed a 360 drive will read at its worst point so the statement regarding there is a definite scenario where 2x Bluray is quicker is supposition without fact, I merely accept that it could occur, particularly with layer changes.  One thing I will say for certain is that in the majority of scenarios the 360 drive reads quicker, I cannot put a figure on this for obvious reasons so don't bother asking as its dependant on each specific game.

To answer his point regarding me insulting him, I called him out on his misinformation to which he still provided no proof, he then called my claim bs without having any facts on the matter.  I see only one person starting insulting people, the difference is I didn't have to cry about it when I was proved wrong.  If you don't understand who c4eva is Feylic I suggest you do some reading if you're really bothered about knowing the full facts.  Also please don't make accusations regarding what other users have said regarding our discussion, I'm not in control of what others type and you certainly shouldn't make assumptions regarding things I've written.  Had you asked for my view properly instead of saying everything I posted was bs then you would have got the reply you so desired.

Finally the point I guess is pretty moot anyway as what it does highlight is that FFXIII will not be affected particularly by either media type, there maybe slight load time difference but nothing that will be seen as an advantage on either console.  Apologies for the slight off topic discussion but I considered it slightly relevant when considering the thread is regarding the media the game is available on the 360.
