Those are two dvd drives that show the dual layer read speed is LESS than the specified read speed of the drive. Yes, it is not a 12X drive, but it gives an idea of how they work and this is much more credible than your bs.

Neither of those is the drives in the 360 and neither run custom firmaware designed for a console.  Come on where is your proof, all I say is supposition in those links with no basis of fact to prove your theory.  Like I said previously YOU made the claim of 8x read speed on DL, it's for you to prove not me.  Your "proof" isn't credible in the slightest and you're still talking bs yourself.

Really, you're the one that should need to prove your point if anyone does.  I don't know a lot about this kind of subject, but it seems like it's pretty widely accepted that even though a drive may be 12x, when it reads a dual layer it reads slower.

The 360 may have something special, but since that's beyond the norm it would make more sense for you to show that.  Feylic has already shown a good number of times his point even if the best examples are from a wiki.

That said, I'm still not sure if a dual layer BlueRay reads at half speed, I can't really find anything anywhere that says it does or doesn't.  Since it's widely accepted that reading a dual layer disc takes twice as long, it makes sense that reading a dual layer bluRay disc would take twice as long (and talking with someone else who knows more than I do help me get to that decision). 

Therefore, at least in FFXIII's case, the 360 version reads data quicker and there's not even any need for you to go and search for your proof.

That is a post by MikeB of all people admitting the 360 DVD drives were 16x drives for Single layer and then proceeding to admit it was more than likely they would perform the same as other 16x drives, hence they would read at 12x DL.  That is as close as we ever got to MikeB admitting how wrong he was on here.

For Xtreme 4.0A default backup Read Speed is same as original game disks 12x. When Original Game disk is booted, all subsequent backup loading will be at Quiet/Slow Read mode, Original Game disks are unaffected. Turn console off/on to reset back to Default backup read speed (12x). Quiet/Slow Read Speed is for quiet operation and/or cheap DVD+R DL media.

I'll not go any further offtopic but I consider my point proven and not just bs.  I personally will take the word of c4eva (a guy who knows the 360 drive and firmware inside and out) over some nobody on a forum with an agenda to spread FUD.

Unfortunately MikeB's post doesn't show where he looked and I have seen drives using 12X. Your second link is discussed in the thread on your third link, and it still looked like it was up in the air whether the 360 read DL's at 12X. Funny thing is, even if they do, bluray 2x still runs faster than the dvd12x's slowest speed so it's still not a clear cut situation.

Oh, and why must you try to insult me in every post you make, does it make you feel better about yourself or something?
