I wish this were true, however a lot of the general public really does just think "Stem cell = bad", it comes from listening to their news without paying attention or looking anything up on their own. At least this applies in America. And people love to bring up the "slippery slope" argument. i.e. we allow this type of stem cell research, then the next thing you know people will be slaughtering infants for their eyeballs. . . or if we allow teh gayz to get the marraige, soon people will marry goats, or Satan. . . etc.
