@OP

Now, I'm NOT impling that anyone in this thread is guilty of this, in fact, I think these are ALL honest opinions here, because I know these people are above petty fanboyism, but it is worth noting that a lot of fans are upset because the PS3 version is an inferior port, and because Bayonetta is competing against God of War III, not in sales, but certainly in quality. There will be a certain amount of backlash against this game, much of it from people who never even played it, or the demo.

Sony themselves took an interest in the US port of this game, because of its high quality. The first two critical reviews of this game were perfect scores from two different sources, each of which are VERY difficulty to obtain and neither of which have promoted 20 games to that level, since gaming began. The game is made by the creator of Devil May Cry, the game which invented the subgenre of which Ninja Gaiden I and II, DMC 1-4, Rygar, The modern 3d Castlevania series, Dante's Inferno, and GoW 1-3 are a part of. The demo, which is never indicative of a games final quality, has recieved rave impressions, and 1up has said they would express nothing short of amazement if Bayonetta wasn't one of the best action games this year.

We know the game is going to be great. Anyone who doesn't at least accept that as a possibility, hasn't been following the games reception or its lineage. I refuse to accept that a significant amount of our members are that out of touch. I'd assumed that everyone who posted here would know at least as much about the game as I just outlined. :P

Well put...

I wasn't going to touch the PS3 port aspect or God of War 3 aspect because

1. I am hoping they fix the minor issues with the PS3 version for EU/US release or that people can look passed that

2. Now that I played this game I can honestly say that God of War 3 doesn't really compete with this.

There is so much variety in this game and the set pieces are so wild that I really can't think of a single game that it competes with. Even DMC...if you were to compare the two, DMC4 just looks boring and predictable compared to this.

Here is an example of what I mean. Out of nowhere...the game will present a mini shooter bonus game. "Beat this for a reward!" So you sweat your ass off to kill as many creatures as you can, and once you are done you get...a green lollypop. LOL. Reminds me of Kojima and his off the wall work in th early MGS days.

Honestly, leting go of Clover studio is a big loss for Capcom. I mean they replaced the brilliance of Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7, REsident Evil 4, God Hand and Okami last gen with...Dead rising and...words "It has Co-op!" this gen.
