People saying that, are complimenting the game....you didn't like VI's story and thought it was confusing?

I really hate direct comparisons like this. They tell us so very little. Akiba hated the split focus, so could easily find FFXIII to have the better story as a result, where as I really liked that. I liked how every character was fleshed out so well, and that made me like the story so much. I hope someone puts up a better explanation of what was so good about the story rather than blanket comparisons to older games.
