Is it really relevant?

Square and Square-Enix are basically the same company.

Wada was in charge, they kept the square and enix teams seperate and the Enix boss despite being part of the bigger, healthier and more profitable company decided to let Wada take over and just retire.

Now if something SE did that was being blamed on Enix, I could see the point... since the Enix higher ups were pushed out of the way for the square guys for some reason.

But whether it was Square or Square-Enix who made a certain game is pointless since they would of made those games anyway.

Enix was more profitable than Squaresoft? I didn't know it, since Squaresoft games had more WW appeal and Enix was a really Japan-Centric publisher.

Answering thread:

FFX-2 in a finacial way were easy money, they could re-use lot of stuff from X, the engine was already there, the team were already used to PS2 development. In a artistic way it was a try to give Yuna a happy ending.

FFXI was a shot in use FF name to enter in the MMO market.
