the more important question is could Sony still make a profit from the PS2 at that price, the PS2 is really helping them out financially right now.
I really would not want a price reduction, although having it as a add on for PS3, you do realize a software emulator is planned for the PS3 at some stage, they will not do it until the full 10 years is used up for PS2, now that's what I call dedication.
