The bet was made WAAAAAAAAAAY before we knew when the game was going to release. I had no idea I would get lucky with such an amazing release date.
Also, FFXIII would have sold a million in Japan first week no matter what. An install base of 4 million is more than enough to guarantee that. I suggest you take a look at the openning weeks of earlier installments in the Final Fantasy series.
