You pick up an already written character. When I play as Lightning, her change in personality throughout the game, her relationships, everything has already been decided. I agree with everything here - virtually verbatim. People can say what they want about Dragon Age, but it is much more the RPG than 90% of the "RPGs" in recent memory. That said, I am really looking forward to Versus, though it isn't a true RPG either.
