Well, Final Fantasy 12 cost $40 million with a crazy long development time. I imagine that it's somewhere between $40-60 million.

well companring this to Final Fantasy 12 won't be right as it wasn't HD and FF13 has been in develpment since FF10

No it has not been in development for 8 years. That's a huge load of BS.

And what makes HD games cost more than last generation? They require more time to make and larger teams to work with. The main cost there is salaries. I highly doubt the size of the team changed all the much and the development times aren't too different.

While I think it's definitely more expensive, it's a possibility that they're not far apart.

it was first in development to be on the PS2.U shud really do some searching.

When the production time exceeded and new cosoles were released, they then announced it as a PS3 game

That's BS. You had the head people on the development team say that actual development took 3 years, but it took 5 years including the work before PS3 dev kits existed.

Seriously. Watch the launch video. It did not take 8 years in development.

The average cost of games this gen has about doubled because creating HD games costs so much more.  It requires more time, more people, more complex systems, and, well, just bigger everything.

You're right that it wasn't in actual development for 8 years but it was in development for at least five which is INSANE.

Hell, with any 5+ year project think how much money you waste in turnovers and rehiring alone.
