Surely 100hz and 120hz tv's will only need a quick firmware update to be able to recieve higher than 60hz signals. One would expect calculating moving objects and creating an extra frame is harder than just displaying the extra frame recieved.

I downloaded it just the other day, all you need to do is put it on a usb key and plug it into the tv.

That won't happen.

These TVs dont actually do 120 Hz. Their visual engine compromizes and inserts extra frames to smooth things out. Each manufacturer calls it something different..."smoothing", "stabilization"...etc.

you are right in saying that most TVs bought in the last 2-3 years have USB slot for updates, but if the hardware just isn't there, you can't update it. I'm still waiting for a 360 dashboard update that lets me do blurays :)

That's not what I hoped but it is what  I thought :(
