Is the Witcher: Enhanced Edition the normal version or something, if so then yes I've found it but these mags from european based sites have anything from "Bronze Award" s to "Game of the Year" that was hard to sort through but, not to be too harsh, if you're counting second-rate gaming sites that hardly anyone has ever heard of then yes The Witcher possibly did receive more awards then Mass Effect. There again, pretty much all of Mass Effect awards were limited to bigger american mags and sites with a few big european sites as well then shifting to metacritic scores (91%) and I saw The Witcher's average is 82%.

While I agree with your oppinion about which game is better (I'm too fan of BioWare and Mass Effect series), bashing non american gaming sites for the fact that you can't understand them / know nothing about them, doesn't make them 2nd rate. They might have more readers than your mag of choice and better, unbiased reviewers, which are not getting payed for scores.

We have 2 big gaming magazines over here, which both hand out realy harsh reviews (you thought EDGE were though...) and hold high standarts. I'd take their score over anything from the web anyday, since they are critical, when it's due.

Don't take this the wrong way but please enlighten me on which of these magazine/ gaming sites are not second-rate or just known to a very very small group of people: http://www.thewitcher.com/community/en/awards/3/.  I'm not trying to detract anything from this game.  I'm only trying to dive into what shio said and whether it's true or not.  The first two pages seem to start with the most prestigous and recognizable sites/mags but from there on you just have awards given by sites that don't even make it to metacritic ratings so those are basically all user choices' in a sense.  Mass Effect's official site only tracks from sites that are listed on metacritic/gamerankings and a few other like the New York Times and such.  If Bioware wanted to burn some man-hours, they could dive into sites like the Witcher has posted and see what they won back in 2007 as well with a much bigger list of awards.

true story.

And of course this little title Halo 3 took quite some awards as well. A competition the PC RPGs did not have to deal with. Of course Mass Effect saw better reviews as well. Metacritic:

--> The Witcher (Windows): 81

--> Mass Effect (Xbox 360): 91
--> Mass Effect (Windows): 89

But we are arguing with shio. He still claims CoD Modern Warfare sold 10 million copies.

The PC version of Mass Effect also was around 90 I believe, yet it won almost no awards. One thing that is true is that The Witcher won overall more awards than Mass Effect, regardless of the quality of those who give them.
