I will get drill for saying this but I blame this on the PS3. When you purchase the 360 you know what you are getting, a LOT of shooters (AKA shooter box). But when the PS3 release the same amount of 1st party exclusive FPS shooters with the 360 then we have a problem. KillZone 2 is the last shooter I'm getting for the PS3.
