Super Mario Galaxy got a 97, the newly released REPACKEGED Metroid game got a 91 ..... I really don't see your point. |
Just look at Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn (easily worth 85 to 90), Mario Kart Wii (should be 90+), Muramasa the demon Blade (i'd give it 85 to 90), Little King's Story (easily a 90+ game, it's my game of the year), Disaster: Day of Crisis (should be around 80-85)... even New Super Mario Bros Wii suffered: it's worth a 95, or a 90 at least...
And most of the best recent "mature" Wii games like Dead Space Extraction, RE Darkside Chronicles or the new Silent Hill are scored way too harsh, it's gettin' insane... and the Metroid Prime Trilogy, as you mention it, is way too low for such an awesome package: the 1st game is still one of the all-time's best, and the THREE games together with even BETTER controls for two of them get such a score?
If you don't see a problem, i do, and many others do...
I'm quite sure the next Galaxy will be bashed for being too much of the same, the next Metroid will be bashed for being too different, Monster Hunter 3 will be bashed for having last-gen visuals, Sin & Punishment 2 will be bashed for being on-rails, No More Heroes 2 will be bashed for being too short, and Epic Mickey will be bashed for being too kiddy... and all will be bashed for some occasionnal "waggle"... and for being Wii games destined to fail ("they should really have been released on PS360, why are 3rd parties still trying their luck on such a casual-friendly console"?).
I sound bitter? Yeah, maybe, but that's what happens when you read too many "lazy" reviews and forum comments...
