Gears, yes. Alien invasions have to end, and COG was formed to protect the Earth. That can't go on very long. But Uncharted has an endless supply of mythological artifacts to choose from. Thousands of years of history from dozens of different cultures. And then there's how he actually met Eddy Raja, which Eye of Indra annoyingly didn't explain.

I'm pretty sure they are not aliens. They have lived underground forever, and they just started attacking. So they have to all be wiped out. That can go on forever

How long can you have a game series that revolves around killing one other race? It would get stale.
