ROFLMAO.
This is a really stupid argument. The PC is the father of FPS. By it's very nature the FPS was built around a pointer. No matter how you spin the excuses even the Consoles use a pointer. It's just assisted and shoehorned into the console controller.
In many respects the Console FPS was an expanded the FPS market by bringing in many non FPS players. Typicly with watered down gaming experience. I know many FPS players from the days of DOOM that just consider the Console FPS scene a joke. Not being considered as a viable tournament level of play in regards to accuracy.
No matter the postulating of the low console gamers and their weaker assisted aiming systems to balance the flaws of the naturally pointer orientated shooter. Won't change the fact that the console controller is not as good. Yes it has the analog for movement, but that alone doesn't not give much strength to it's over all game play style.
There is nothing the console gamer is ever going to be able to do that will ever have the classic console control justified in the eyes of the PC FPS veteran. Considering that FPS was 10 more years mature on the PC why should veteran PC FPS gamers respect console gamers?
Though I have seen and myself included a nod towards the WiiRemote since it's pointer based and does have the analog advantage. Is the Pointer as good as the mouse. no not really, but it's miles above targeting with an analog stick. Though they tend to get on the Wii case for being behind in elements of graphics and game play layout. I suspect because most of the Wii FPS do seem to be dated.
I however will at least respect that as long as your having fun with your game is all that matters, but my friends will continue to just call console gamers [insert derogatory comment].
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
