I've finished both games, and the slowdown, while noticeable, isn't terribly annoying. I mentioned it in my review, after all, it's nothing that stops your play or anything like that. I prefer to value much more the now understandable script and the cutscenes, they make the port better than the original, being able to now understand the story is more important than a minor slowdown when you cast spells
