The only things that have evolved in the Final Fantasy games are the graphics (which isn't something to be praised), and the combat system. And even then the more recent combat systems are mediocre... they're slow-paced yet give almost no tactical play compared to Baldur's Gate's and Dragon Age's (both of which have faster combats too).
Final fantasy haven't evolved in terms of plot/narrative and RPG mechanics. Even worse, they still use the same animu weeaboo crap in their games.
