Selling a laptop, what should I as for it?

Still has value. Can hook up an external screen when needing to  configure it and use it a Ventrilo server / torrent box / hook it to USB drives for a NAS etc... Old laptops make great home servers since they don't use much power (especially without the power hungry screen).

But at the same time I can build an extremely 250 buck computer with the bare minimums (don't even need a case, you can stick it in a well ventilated cardboard box, seriously) for extremely cheap that does the same thing.

So perhaps a price of mabye around 50 bucks. (I reccomend it to people who already have ancient laptops, as opposed to going and buying one. For buying it's better to build one as vlad says).
