Well, the thing is.  Even at the height of the cold war... a Nuclear war wouldn't really be armageddon.  The effects of Nuclear Weapons are much less then people think... as would the effects of Nuclear Winter.

It greatest disaster in the history of the world.... but it wouldn't be bad enough to be considered an "armaggeddon" in my opinion.
