I want that. I want to keep playing FF until I die. Just don't want to wait freaking long years for it.
I want a new FF every year, Just like in old PS1 days.

Part of the problem with FF currently is its over-saturation.  This gen alone we've had around 45+ 'Final Fantasy' games (that's roughly 9 a year).  And while its been 4 1/2 years since the last 'main' title, it would be a LOT worse if we got them even sooner.

Even if they limited the games to only the main games (which fans would complain about), it would still seem like too much.  Heck, people were complaining the series was getting out of control back on the PSX days, when we were only getting one main game and 1-2 side games a year.  Pretty soon Kingdom Hearts is going to surpass the number of 'Final Fantasy' games released in the PSX...in one generation.

Square has put ALL its eggs in one basket.  And to keep that basket warm, they have to keep adding more and more eggs.

I agree on that one. It's one of the problems. What I want is quality FF even if it's a spin-off games every year.

I completely disagree

I do not buy ANY FF spin offs (I got FF4 DS & FF7:CC...so 1 spin off & 1 remake) & most people don't

Main series wise they are anything but saturated, since FF10 we have been getting one every 4 years

that is not saturated at all.

I prefer a 2 year gap between main FF releases

But you just proved that the Final Fantasy brand is oversaturated.  You stated you don't buy just any of the spin-offs they produce of the series.  And you probably don't buy every sequel, prequel or remake either.  Since hardly anyone can....that's called over-saturation.

When there's been multiple ports and remakes of the same game released in one generation (such as FFI, FFIV and FFV) or tons of spin-offs and sequels to one game (do I need to go into all the junk connected to FFTactics and FFVII?), then the series is over-saturated and not even a dedicated fan can go out and buy every game tied to the series.

Just because the gap between main games has been growing larger, they've just filled that gap with literally multilpe new FF games a year.  That's the exact definition of over-saturation as the average gamer isn't going to make a major distinction between 'Final Fantasy IV DS', 'Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions' and 'Final Fantasy XIII'.  Everything is just yet another Final Fantasy game to the avg gamer.  Especially now that they've already announced 4-5 games connected to FFXIII...before its even come out.
