I would have to say FFVI when the world ended.
This was before the internet ruined everything and not everything came with such a giant twist. I got to the floating island and I totally expected the game to end there.
I had already had a few twists, I had the full party, I was high level, and it just felt like the end of the game. Why wouldn't it end there?
