For the last time it was rendered using the in game engine. Yes you can polish up a cutscene but if you or anyone has ever played halo you would know CGI cutscenes are NEVER used. If you actually pay attention you can tell it is not CGI. CGI cutscenes look Avatar quality now. Obviously this is not at that level.
