Video Game awards are like dog / cat shows. There are best in breed awards then best in show out of all the breed winners. Should be the same with games. There are best in genre games, then GOTY is the best game out of all the best in genre games. It makes no sense for Uncharted to lose to another action/adventure game for the genre award then beat everything else for GOTY. It means there was an action/adventure game released in 2009 that is better than Uncharted 2.
Not winning best in genre makes the whole system for these awards seem somewhat lacking in credibility. I hope the VGC goty awards are more credible than this.
Still, fantastic job Naughty Dog, I can't wait to buy the Uncharted 2 GOTY edition.
