| stof said: I'd say Drag me to Hell was easily better than Army of Darkness. As fun as AoD was, it was just a bit too hamy. It had no underlying horror or solid emotional state. Just an hour and a half of "lets beat Ash up" Which was great, don't get me wrong, but it lacked the balance the other films had. and anyways, what was a better horror movie released in the last five or ten years? |
I'd agree with that. Despite my friends' protestations, I'm not a huge AoD fan. The first two Evil Deads were way better.
As for better horror movies in the past ten years, I'd start with Dawn of the Dead, The Descent, The Mist, 28 Days Later, and 1408 for starters.
Personally, I really liked 1408.
Notice I left off the Saw movies. The first one was good (but a little gory for my tastes) and each one became progressively more annoying as time went on. I haven't bothered to watch the last two.
