Clothing sizes and the annoyances

I hope they won't do similar things in europe/germany - I don't like to have to search for my correct size ,because some marketing guys tried to "make me feel better about myself"...(well, I guess mens clothing isn't affected anyway , so there is little risk for me to suffer from "vanity sizing" )
