It always amazes me that people that have no problem accepting that a plumber can jump 30 feet in the air, or a human being can get shot 25 times and just duck behind a wall and be okay in 3 seconds, can be so damned closed minded about something like this. This is the first big leap towards VR! Didn't anybody else dream of the holodeck when they were younger? This is a step towards that, when or how will that EVER be a bad thing? I hope the OP is right, and we get some really mind-blowing software to go with this, because it's going to sink or swim on it's software.
Before you get all flamey, I understand that there are obstacles, but some of the best and brightest minds in the video game and entertainment industry are working on this. And none of you care, you just want to bitch "How's it gonna workz?" Waaaaaaahh! Be excited about exciting things, dammit! It doesn't matter who is making it, it's cool and even if it flops it could open up the industry to something else that will truly be revolutionary. It may not be the leap all the way to the holodeck, but it certainly is an important part of that road.
