Don't know what fantasy land you live in but I can pickup a 360 controller cheaper than a DS3, I can then also use my rechargable batteries I have lying around in it or indeed use one of the 5 official battery packs I've acquired over the years. Funnily enough if I did ever have a battery fail it would cost a tiny fraction of the price of a new controller too, then again if I ever had the battery fail in my DS3 I'd fix it myself for a similar noinal amount.
