LO has an approach to story that I liked a lot.

I know quite a bit about FFXIII's story. The overall background and setting is amazing. You can even tell from the vauge details that its going for a deeper narrative

I'll agree that traditionnally the FF stories have been varying enough from one to the other to remain interesting. I guess my skeptism is due to the whole HD whoring feel the game is giving me... (that and I don't even think the in game screens are great...)
