Comparing Mitsuda to Uematsu with Chrono Trigger isn't fair.  Two of the songs Uematsu 'wrote' were parodies or even direct copies of other songs.

Though its been stated that this happened because Uematsu was going through a 'mid-life crisis' at the time.  Also why Mitsuda got the job to do the music for Chrono Trigger.

Comparing Mitsuda with Uematsu with ANY game he composed it unfair actually. Mitsuda >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Uematsu. The music in Chrono Trigger would be much worst if Uematsu composed the music for it. It would still be good, just that as godly as the Chrono Trigger music we all know and love.
