i got a sixaxis and dualshock3 for more than 2 years...the sixaxis X button is starting to feel sticky (like it doesn't return immediatly) and the dualshock square button has felt weird since the beginning, but so far they still work pretty well for most games. Even then I think they will die way before the battery.
