And their revenue has been increasing a lot, so they're selling lots of games. The big problem is they're spending more on game development than they used to. I'm not saying it's all this gen's fault anyway, my point is many publishers aren't making profits so it's not like they're ripping you off IMO. As for lowering prices, it could work (I don't know), but I guess they've done their studies? Hopefully they've done them correctly too...

ahhhh good post.
well as i said before the gen does cost more thats a fact but i think a 10 dollar mark up is crazy i mean what other business can get away with that? music went DOWN because it lost a lot of money not up and movies just look at blu-ray... as soon as the prices went down lots more people started buying it.
as you said lowering prices could work but they choose to rasie prices and im sure they did studies because as you can see we as gamers still buy them at higher prices >.<.
