Complete exaggeration. 1. Plasmas screen is made out of glass so it does reflect a bit more light, but no blinds need to be closed for people to see the screen normally. Besides, most manufacturers coat their screens with an anti-glare coating. 2. Plasma is still being manufactured by countless manufacturers. Just cause Sony doesn't make it, its not dead technology. Samsung, Panasonic and LG still support plasma. 3. Both LCD and Plasma are obsolete if you consider OLED TV's coming in the future.

Samsung has very little interest in prolonging plasma however, due to its dominance in the LCD market...
Anyway 3 years ago you could not find an LCD screen above 40" for any affordable price...
Higher screens were all plasma.
Just walk into a Best Buy now and check which technology dominates the 40-52", it's LCD, not Plasma ( ratio of LCD to plasma on display in my Best Buy for those sizes is like 80-20).
