I agreed in a way of letting your console idle (displaying dashboard) for a few minutes before turning it off because it doesn't demand that much power or isn't much of a load for the GPU, not that I do that but, it make sense, sort of, its working for him.

No its not working for anyone. Jasper power useage is 12W less during idle as playing Halo 3 and a lot of that is simply the optical drive and HDD not spinning. http://www.anandtech.com/gadgets/showdoc.aspx?i=3472&p=5. These consoles don't have any form of power management in them.
