Can Lightning (FF13) become MORE POPULAR than Cloud (FF7)?!!

none of the final fantasy's have anythign to do with another (unless same number spinoff thingy's)

 

so it could have started as FF7, or did you forget a certain thing called Star Wars 4, 5, 6  then 20 years later 1, 2, 3
